HTC are back at it again with the release of the HTC 11, also referred to as the HTC U. This new HTC will be the successor to the HTC 10 and is likely to be released at the end of April/beginning of May. There are high hopes for this new device as the HTC 10 was a massive success. However, insight rumours suggest the actual name for the new smartphone won’t be the HTC 11, but the HTC U.

Rumours suggest that there will be a fingerprint sensor and home button on the front, very much resembling iPhone models. Many sources have said that the phone will be IP57 certified meaning it can be submerged in water for 30 minutes without damage. This would be an exciting innovation from HTC.

The HTC 10 has a screen size of 5.2 inches and it seems they will finally be following leading industry providers with a 5.5 inch screen with their latest release.  From what we’ve heard, the phone could either have screen resolution of 1440 x 2560, or an unusual resolution of 1556 x 2550.

That would suggest a strange aspect ratio; however it is not impossible as we have seen with the LG G6 and Samsung Galaxy S8. Continue reading.
